Bespoke Shed, Deck & Pagoda

The picture shows the build of a Shed, deck and Pagoda, all built off of 6 vertical posts. The design was bespoke to the customer, including a window that drops down to serve as a bar during garden parties.

Bespoke furniture

A small bespoke 2-tier table (L-500mm x B-130mm x H-800mm) made exactly to client specifications.

This table has 16 mortice and tenon joints and a antique white finish, coated in 2 final layers of furniture wax.

Outdoor Gym

Here’s a montage of pics during a 3 day build of an L-shaped outdoor gym for a client. The structure was designed to the clients exact specifications and was built to ensure it would hold heavy punchbags from the rafters. The frame was traditionally braced & jointed.

Potting table

Made on-site for a green fingered client who wanted a potting table, complete with a drawer to collect spilt compost.

The spare timber was utilised to allow tool hooks to be hung on the wall.

Bespoke Built-in Cabinet

A bespoke built-in cabinet, fitted into a Victorian house in Twickenham. Building this on-site meant that the cabinet could be scribed to the uneven walls to ensure a clean, professional finish.

Custom built drawers

A client requested 3 bespoke drawers for a home office. These are hand made with dovetail joints and a fully built-in base. The drawer fronts are designed to be easily changed if the client wants a different look to the office in the future.

Garden gate refurbishment

This montage shows the timeline of refurbishing a garden gate for one of my loyal customers. The gate was in very poor condition, before it was given a new lease of life. It was also had new ironmongery fitted and an additional anti-intruder trellis that the local Community Police Officer recommended fixed to the top.

Bespoke cold frame

A hand made Cold Frame, made to a client’s exact specifications to fit a garden space.

Unlike some shop bought versions, this is crafted the traditional way and will last a lifetime.

New garage side door with bespoke door frame

Before & after pictures of a replacement garage side door on an old perfab style garage. The frame was handmade to fit the unusual size of door opening; additionally the upgrade made the garage far more secure as well as more aesthetically pleasing.

Note the gable roof refurbishment, which was an earlier task I completed for the customer.

Large door frame & doors

Built into and old Hackney Carriage stable entrance to enlarge the indoor space of a home in Twickenham. This large frame (using 100mm thick timbers) and doors were crafted on-site to the exact specifications requested from a client. Note the hand made wooden slide bolt that was an unusual request, but great fun to design and build.

Large jobs like this come with hand drawn scale plans, that give clients the opportunity to see what the product will look like (and change anything before construction starts).

Bespoke rain shelter

This bespoke shelter had to be lightweight, removable and in-keeping with the USP of the Telecafe.

My design allowed the shelter to be easily fitted and taken down, by simply removing 4 nuts and washers from the frame.

One of the favorite parts of my job is designing products like these, to match the specific needs of clients.

Under Stair Storage

This under stairs storage cupboard was built to store specific items, whilst utilising as much of the extra space as possible.

Bespoke Bedroom Table

This table was designed to match a client’s bed frame and built to their exact specifications. All joints are mortise & tenons, with hidden dowel rods used to lock the joints in place.

Window repair

This montage shows the removal and renovation of a customer’s decorative 1st floor window, before securely fitting, painting and sealing it back in position.

Gutters & down pipes

This new downpipe was added to a client’s property, where an existing loft conversion was overflowing the original guttering; this new downpipe fixed the problem and fitted perfectly into an existing ground drain.

Gutter assessments, cleaning and repair are all available as part of my services.

Fence repairs

A replacement section of fence for another of my lovely clients; this repair meant the existing fence (that was in good condition) was left in place.

I always assess jobs beforehand so that I can advise clients on different options available to suit their needs.

Fence shadow piece

This looks simple, but the fence panels are scribed and cut to an uneven wall, fitting exactly to the contours down to ground level (to prevent vermin accessing under the fence). Evidence that even the smallest of tasks are given the Kenny Mac Carpentry high standard of finish.

Flooring

I can refurbish/repair existing flooring or lay laminate flooring. Here’s an example of a floor I repaired (made level and repaired loose floorboards), before laying a new laminate floor on top of 2 layers of underlay. New skirting boards finished off the new look for the room (ignore the orange masking tape; i’d only just finished applying the undercoat).

Garden workshop & decking

This montage shows the timeline of building my garden workshop during the COVID 19 lockdown. The build included fully insulating the building before the internal cladding was fitted. All benches and worktops were custom fitted and a new smaller door was fitted to allow for more wall space inside.

Outside, a new patio was laid ready for a new shed, and a curved decking area was designed to match the style of the garden.

Built-in Cupboard

This is an example of a recent built-in cupboard designed and constructed for a client in St Margarets. Everything was built from scratch, after being designed to the clients exact requirements.

Loft insulation & boarding

Insulating a loft space and boarding out a 6 metre area centred on the loft hatch so a client could easily store boxes. This was a restricted space, using rockwool insulation, which is why I look like an extra in a sci-fi movie!

Tree felling

After years of military tree felling experience, I am qualified in safely felling trees on your property. I dont have the capacity to remove it, but can cut everything to sizes that will fit wood burners, as well as cutting the brash down to a size that will fit compost heaps/bins.

Here you can see me felling a diseased cherry tree that a client wanted felled before it became dangerous.
